Seating Chart

The benefit of using paint to creative a seating chart is that it is simple to use and offers a lot of creative adjustable tools. Using paint made it more difficult for me to make the seats look organized and aligned.

Technology For My Classroom!

It is so important today for children to become familiar with technology at an early age. Technology allows children to expand their learning experience from the classroom to the rest of the world. I believe the most practical yet beneficial computer for my classroom would be HP - TouchSmart All-In-One Computer / Intel® Core™ i5 Processor / 23" Display / 6GB Memory / 1TB Hard Drive. This computer offers several easy to use tools for children to learn through. Seeing as though young children will be the primary users of this device, I feel as though a desktop would be the most practical option over a laptop computer, with less risk of is being ruined. One of my favorite things in elementary was having a pen pal from another country. With this computer students can not only communicate with children across the world through e-mail, they can also video chat them using the build in camera and microphone. The classroom tends to carry a lot of germs with children, and a mouse seems like a dangerous collector, with the option of a touch screen monitor, it cuts down on a lot of hand to hand contact. This computer can also double as a television with it’s built in HDTV tuner. Children will never become frustrated with this computers high speed, and large memory space giving them the freedom to do and save as many things as they would like. A common trait among young children is disorganization. With the use of a USB flashdrive, each student can individually save their work on a simple electronic stick, then plug it back into the computer and all of their work be neatly organized in an electronic folder. The USB flashdrive can also be taken home and used on most computers, giving parents the freedom to view their children work. For each student to have their own personal USB flashdrive with 4GB it would roughly cost $75.00. The price of this computer being $1,249.99 is a bit costly, however well worth the investment, and will ensure dependability and the capability to be used for a long period of time.
Pictures are such an important part of socializing in today’s world. It is important for children to know how to use and take pictures. Having a classroom digital camera would offer an outlet for creativity and un that children will love and learn from. I would like to purchase the Canon - PowerShot 12.1-Megapixel Digital Camera for my classroom. This camera is very simple to understand and use for young children. This camera offers great quality pictures, and also offers the option to record film, which I know children would have a blast with. The camera can be easily hooked up to the computer through a simple cord which allows you to view and edit your pictures though the camera’s or computer’s editing software. The camera is at a low price of $109.00, and with the purchase of a memory stick with the capability of holding several pictures and videos the total would be around $150.00.
With all of these devices children are going to want a way to print and show their work to others which calls for a printer. I have chosen the Canon - PIXMA MX870 Wireless All-in-One Printer. This printer has the capabilities to print and scan pictures and papers with high quality. It is especially easy to use for children and an easy way to turn anything into a digital file. The printer compliments the computer and camera perfectly and is well worth the price of $149.00. Each of these devises serves an important role in the learning process while expanding the children’s knowledge of technology at the same time. All together the cost of these projects would be around $1623.99.
